Patricia Healey has provided tutorial services to both children and adults for over 25 years.   She has studied both Elementary and Special Education.   While at Southern Connecticut State University, Patricia was trained by Ms Louise Spear-Swerling on the teaching methodology of Orton-Gillingham and Beth Slingerland.  This work was language-based, multisensorial, structured, sequential, and cumulative.  For some children, reading happens almost through osmosis.  For others, it is a more challenging skill and it is those students that benefit from a direct, explicit form of instruction.

Patricia has helped students in public and private school settings learn to read, write, spell and succeed using the methodology of Orton-Gillingham, Beth Slingerland and Maria Montessori.  Adult students from all around the globe, have been supported with United States Citizenship, ESL, Basic Literacy, general life skills,  resume building, interview skills, and other vocational skills.

Patricia is contacted by parents, adults, public and private schools to work with students in need of additional instructional support.   She has taught in both public and private schools and homebound cases.
